'What is Grief?' Softcover - Tasmania
Ages 4 +
Written for children aged 4 and older, this beautifully illustrated book addresses various forms of grief beyond the death of a loved one, including family separation, the loss of friendships, and the loss of pets. It depicts the different ways grief can manifest and provides strategies to help children build resilience and navigate their big feelings.
Learning Through Loss is funded by the Tasmanian Department of Health & Healthy Tasmania, allowing us to make our resources free for Tasmanians. Anyone living and working outside of Tasmania will need to pay a small fee for our resources to cover the cost of printing, administration, and postage and can do so by following this link. This resource has been printed as a softcover A4 booklet and is designed to be distributed to the community. A hardcover version will be available for purchase in October 2024.
Learning Through Loss’s mission is to create grief-literate communities, and the program does this by offering free resources and grief literacy education to professionals and volunteers who work with children and young people. The program works to prevent the harm that is caused when grief is unseen and unsupported.
'What is Grief' is also available as an e-book and free print download from the Learning Through Loss website https://learningthroughloss.org.au/resources/
